Merwulf (rhymes with werewolf) is a minimalist post-indie-punk from Portland, Oregon. Built around distorted bass, vintage-style keys, and hard-hitting drums, the band is often compared to modern post-punk acts like Gustaf and Sweeping Promises, as well as earlier touchstones from 1970s New York. Overseas radio has also tagged Merwulf as a Riot Grrrl band, a read the group welcomes even as their sound slips between scenes.
